I used to live in a cloud: "Economic inequity a feminist issue?"

We like to think that we are all equal or if we "fight" for it we will all be one day. I don't believe in total equality in this world: people to people, men and women, rich and poor etc. I believe there will always be a CEO, who makes more money then the cleaning (man or lady) who clean the office at night. There will always be that idea of men have to make more money that women. There will never be 100% of the population becoming rich.
I am not septic, I am realistic, there will always be one person who have less then the other. But I do believe in RESPECT. No matter how much or how little someone has, respect from one another will always be the key to advancement. I think, poverty in any aspect; economic, educational, mental etc, takes away respect for yourself and from others.
So the question is; "Is Economic inequity a feminist issue?" YES, it is. Because we, as human being, always want to  have more then others, we sometimes tend to even walk over others to get what we want "Money." As we all know money equal Power and for most people in power looking down and abusing their power on those who have less is usually common. They always fine a way to take even the fewer the less privilege receive. As I am starting to understand, one of the aspect of  feminism is to fight against injustice and I believe, PEOPLE LIKE US exposing this unfairness to the world to see is a good step. With the CENTER FOR WORKING- CLASS STUDIES school people can at list find in information on how to fight injustice and regain their respect.

  1. The question of it ever being justice or equality when it comes to the term money and power is a hard question to swallow. Though this class has raised our awareness to what society tries to cover in that blanket of many mysteries. They are many people that are not informed about any of this, and that secret blanket is still there. Will I ever believe that equality and justice between men and women will ever come to a resolution in all aspects of life? The answer is that I am uncertain just as much as people are naive to the concept. Respect is a something earned, and many people make you work hard and don't ever give it to you. One thing I learned in life is to not have expectations of anyone because they will always find a way of disappointing you.

  2. Your last phrase is so true, just do what you have to do and the rest is life.

  3. I think that people should be raised on the thought that respect needs to be earned, but at the same time, you need to teach how to respect others.

  4. True, but don't you think that if we started by respecting which other just because we are all human being, the rest will follow? Because if we wait until people deserve it, we will wait a long time!!!

  5. I like you you point out that there will always be a type of inequality and that the CEO will make more money than the cleaning man. It's nice to know that you're realistic when it comes to these situations.
